Layne Flack’s Life is Spiraling Out of Control
If you took a poll of the least popular professional poker players in the world then Layne Flack is no doubt at the top of the list. Not only is Flack totally outspoken and has a tendency to drink way more liquor than anyone ever should, but he just keeps doing things to lower his perception among the poker community. Just a few months ago Flack suggested that Doyle Brunson only won bracelets when there was “8 people” playing in WSOP tournaments. And last month Flack was seen rubbing elbows with the likes of online poker cheater Russ Hamilton on the golf course.
As if things couldn’t get any worse for Flack he went and got a DUI while he was speeding and failing to yield to an emergency vehicle. Flack tried to later claim that his blood alcohol level was 0, but he refused to take a breathalyzer test at the scene. It was not until he took a later test that it was supposedly revealed Flack had no alcohol in his system (who knows how much later that was).
And given Flack’s previous record of being a substance abuser it would seem unlikely to me that he had no alcohol in his system while trying to play king of the road with an emergency vehicle. But we won’t know for sure until the courts make a ruling in the case.
The worst possible scenario for Flack in this situation is that he will have to spend 6 months in jail for the charges against him. The best case scenario is that the courts will force Flack to undergo some serious alcohol counseling so he can take care of his problem.
