Traveling Las Vegas during the WSOP

For anyone that plays poker, the World Series of Poker is the Mecca of all events.  Not only is there tens of millions up for grabs in the WSOP, but the prestige and fame of winning an event is always alluring too.  But even more than any of this stuff, the excitement and fun of hanging out in Las Vegas during the WSOP is the best thing of all.

The only problem is that most people don’t get all the enjoyment they should out of Las Vegas during this time because they don’t have solid plans for getting around Sin City.  That’s why you need to make plans before arriving at the airport so you’ll be prepared for the best time of your life.

The first thing you need to decide is what your main transportation method will be while in Las Vegas.  Getting a rental car can be cheaper for those that plan on going all over Vegas while there and it gives you plenty of freedom too.  On the other hand, taking a cab or even bus is great for those who are unfamiliar with Las Vegas and can be cheap for those who will be hanging around the Rio the majority of the time.

Another thing to consider is where you will stay obviously if you’re not in the Rio (which is pretty expensive around this time of year).  If you stay off of The Strip then a car might be a good option while staying on The Strip will allow you to walk many places, but this can be pretty costly.  If you do stay on The Strip then you can take the double-decker bus or the Las Vegas Monorail which are both really cheap.

Whatever you do though, just make sure your Las Vegas traveling plans are made before leaving for the WSOP.
