Which Women will make it Big at WSOP
Despite the fact that there are nearly 98 men to every 2 women in poker tournament fields, at least one woman somehow manages to make a name for herself at the World Series of Poker. This year should be no different since a number of talented women will be playing in multiple WSOP tournaments. So here’s a look at some to watch out for at the 2009 WSOP.
Tiffany Michelle is one person I definitely expect to be making some moves since she is coming off an excellent 17th place finish in last year’s Main Event. And even if she doesn’t manage to duplicate that success in the Main Event, look for her to receive lots of coverage in every tourney she enters.
Vanessa Rousso is definitely a woman to watch in this year’s WSOP since she is on fire right now after winning the High Roller event in Monte Carlo and taking second in the NBC Heads-Up Championship. Rousso made 3 cashes last year in the 2008 WSOP and looks poised for her best run ever in poker’s biggest event.
Kara Scott is one of the European women that looks to make some major noise at the 2009 WSOP. Formally just another pretty face, Scott took second at the 2009 Irish Poker Open Main Event and has done will in non-televised EPT tourneys too. Look for her to parlay this success into some good WSOP finishes.
One popular online female that could do well in the WSOP is Tracey “xTraCey” Nguyen who not only has $250k in lifetime online earnings, but also has made two cashes in the WSOP. She looks to join the other 3 aforementioned women in the winner’s circle at Las Vegas and could even take down a bracelet if things go right.
