A Great Poker TV Idea
If you watch MTV, or similar networks, you’re bound to see several TV shows that focus on non-famous people who still lead really interesting lives. Probably the most recognizable show like this that I’ve seen is MTV’s True Life where they find lots of people to profile that are either aspiring to do something great or have a major problem.
A couple of the more memorable shows I’ve seen on True Life include a girl who couldn’t stop shopping even though it was eating up her whole paycheck, and an obsessive natural bodybuilder who lived, breathed, and sleeped bodybuilding. The other day I was thinking to myself, “Why haven’t they ever done a profile on the life an Internet poker player.”
Profiling an Internet poker player is just as cool as anything else I’ve seen on that show since I know a couple of pro players, and their lives are really interesting. And I don’t mean interesting in a James Bond type of way, but rather intriguing in the way that they’re exchanging thousands of dollars every day without having any idea of what’s going to happen. I’ve seen one of my friends be up by as much as $200,000 only to lose all of that money, and have to be backed by somebody else.
Plus these guys like to party at night, and spend lots of money when they go out which is also pretty cool. As I said before, I’m just surprised that I’ve never seen anything like this on True Life, or other related shows. Who knows, maybe I’ll have to pitch the idea to them myself before it ever becomes a reality.
